Hartwell House Named As One of the Top Hotels in the British Isles
The AA has named Hartwell House as one of the hotels in the British Isles. It has been awarded a prestigious 4 red star rating for its accommodation along with 3 AA rosettes for the high quality of its food.
The AA has selected 200 hotels in Britain and Ireland to receive red rather than the usual black red stars of 2005. It is possible for a hotel to be awarded between one and five stars to indicate the quality and range of each hotel’s services and facilities and hotels in all five categories have been selected to be part of the top 200.
What secured Hartwell’s House’ place in the top flight are the very high marks awarded by AA inspectors for the outstanding levels of comfort, quality, cleanliness and customer care.
The AA’s Chief hotel and restaurant inspector, Peter Birnie, explains ‘Stars are a record of the quality and range of facilities and services offered at each hotel, but on top of this our AA inspectors carry out a unique quality assessment of every establishment on our books.
This gives us an individual quality score for more than 4000 hotels – and the results are included in our AA Hotel Guide 2005, which will b published on the 14th October 2004
‘By Bringing together the quality score, the official star rating an the AA Rosette award for food, we have been able to identify this year’s Top 200 hotels, awarding them red rather than the usual black stars’
Today Jonathan Thompson commented ‘We are absolutely delighted that our hotel has been selected by the AA as one if the premier places to stay in the British Isles during 2005’
Of this year’s high fliers, 125 are in England – 22 of them in London – 43 in Scotland, 11 in Wales, 18 in Ireland and three in the Channel Islands. In all 32 hotels have been awarded five red stars, 46 have four, 82 have three, 27 have two and eight have one. There are also five establishments classed as restaurants with rooms which do not have start classifications but which make the Top 200 |
