Bodysgallen Hall, which opened in 1982, was the first property to be restored by Historic House Hotels. The company acquired this decaying and sadly neglected mansion and spent two years transforming it into a splendid country house hotel. It is a Grade 1 listed house standing in 200 acres of its own parkland on a hillside above the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno. The house was built mainly in the 17th century with some skilful later additions. The earliest part of the house is a 13th century tower, reached by a narrow, winding stone staircase, which is the perfect place to admire the magnificent views of Conwy Castle and the mountains of Snowdonia. |
